Women’s Lacrosse

General

For general information about women’s lacrosse check out the Wikipedia article Women’s Lacrosse.

In The Netherlands, women play with an experimental set of lacrosse rules. Most different is the fact that in the Dutch league women play with only 10 players on the field instead of 12 players. Most of the rules however, are still the same as the international women’s lacrosse rules.

Players of division 1 and 2 have to play a minimum of two games of the total games in this season 2009/2010, with the team they want to play with in the play-offs, to be considered eligible for participation in the play-offs.

(2010/2011 onwards)

If a player is injured and can not play enough games to be eligible to play in the play-offs, a doctor’s note including type of injury, date of occurrence and recovery period can be send to the NLB. Games played in the period the player is injured will not contribute to the total amount of games.
